In Australia, GBM care typically involves a multidisciplinary team — neurosurgeons, neuro-oncologists, radiation oncologists and supportive care specialists. Knowing who is on your team and how to reach them between appointments provides essential structure. Do not hesitate to ask who your main point of contact is.

Public and private pathways

Australian families may navigate care through public hospitals, private care, or a combination. Each pathway has its own considerations. Your treating team and hospital social workers can help you understand referrals, waiting times and what support is available — these are exactly the people to ask early.
