Australian Brain Cancer Charities, Shared by Julie Crawshay

Australia has dedicated organisations working to support families and advance brain cancer research. I am Julie Crawshay, and these charities became an important part of our journey after Nic's glioblastoma diagnosis.
Cure Brain Cancer Foundation

The Cure Brain Cancer Foundation is one of Australia's leading brain cancer research charities. I have a personal connection — in 2024 I ran the TCS Sydney Marathon to raise funds for the Foundation, supporting research including the GBM AGILE trial. Read more in my post on running the Sydney Marathon.
Cancer Council and broader support
Cancer Council Australia and its state bodies provide practical and emotional support to families across the country, from information lines to support services. These broad organisations complement brain-cancer-specific charities.
Why charities matter
Beyond funding research, these organisations offer something just as vital: the message that you are not alone. I created The Neuro Farmacist to add evidence-based education to this Australian support ecosystem.
